The Department of Health’s Environmental Health Division will begin fogging from 6 to 9 p.m. in the St. Croix district beginning Monday June 20 through Monday June 27, 2011.
The schedule is an updated listing from one released June 3, and which had to be postponed due to inclement weather. Fogging schedules will recur in phases, throughout the Hurricane Season, which ends November 30, 2011, for the island of St. Croix as well as the islands of St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island.
This week, Environmental Health staff is conducting Larvaeciding on the islands of St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island, a process that involves killing off mosquito eggs before they hatch and thereby, cutting down on the potential increase of the adult mosquitoes.
